This is a great product!I have a weird shaped hood on my 52 Chevy 3600. Just use a drafting square & carpenter knife.Mike Davis-owner left his cell phone & email. I texted him for advice. "Should I spray 3M spray adheasive as well in addition to the self stick?"I didn't receive a reply, so I called & left a message.While I was typing up an email to Mike, he called me!Mr. Davis is very friendly and did advise me to use some spray adhesive.Look, I thought I'd be calling some guy from Chine or India.An American born guy called me back within 10 Minutes of my text!That's Service!!

There are better things to stick down to big spans of sheet metal if you're looking for noise dampening, but this ain't bad. For panels drumming you need dead weight, not airy foam, and in a super heat soak area like your underhood, reflective aluminum foil is largely a waste.BUT I put this against the hood sheet metal and it turned a lot of ringing thumps into dead thumps, so it will work. Then I re-covered everything with the original OEM fiber sheet and the end results were visually ordinary yet sonically very noticeable.THIS STUFF WILL TRULY SUCK if you don't thoroughly clean the metal. Wipe it! Wipe it down with good rags and mineral spirits/Dawn. Then before peeling off the paper backing spray clear solvent adhesion promoter on the metal/paint or wipe it with MEK or acetone. That will deter a lot of future adhesion problems as it really works. It's hot above the motor, eh?

This product worked for the heat coming off of our Polaris. It has an awesome sticky back and worked perfectly well. I would definitely buy this product again if needed!

Worked great in my 75 Corvette. Installed throughout floor, doors, and firewall. I did add a layer of adhesive backed heat reflective foam but I have no more heat coming through the firewall. This stuff is easy to work with but can be a little messy on a warm day. Apply to a clean surface and you cant hardly peel the beutyl off. I don't notice any smells from it either.

I used it for the inside roof in my enclosed trailer. It cut down on the noise and vibration by 80%. It did everything I needed it to do. I did need to cut it in half based on the application, but it gives you lines to follow, so no measurements are required.
