You can't beat the price and the performance is great but the reason people are saying they aren't loud enough is because it doesn't matter what phone you have, the headphone amp in you phone is not powerful enough to drive these speakers! When I plug my phone up to it I can't hear it through the pillow at all so what I used to boost it was a Bluetooth transmitter! I already had 2 Bluetooth transmitter/receivers and i have the the transmitter hooked to the TV and the receiver hooked up on my nightstand with 2 of these speakers in my pillow so i can listen to the TV without disturbing my soul mate. I found that it i didn't turn the TV transmitter on but turned just the night stand receiver on and paired it with my phone if he'd plenty of power to make the speakers play through a feather pillow! The Bluetooth trans/receiver is just a boss that is the size of thumb drive and it only has a USB port for power, 1/8" stereo headphone jack and a switch that says Tx/Rx that lets you switch it to a trasmitter or receiver! If you get a pair of these, you won't have any cords across your bedroom or living room when you want to listen to your music or TV programs in the headphones! I have 2 of the speakers in my pillow and out of the headphone jack i have a stereo to mono adapter then a headphones splitter cord and that way you can hear the same thing no matter where you're head is at! I got the pair for like $35 dollars but it you only need one i think they're $15 and you will have enough power to drive the speakers!

The only downside for me is the thinness of the cord. Over time someone might repeatedly pull on the cord in their sleep & the internal wires may get pulled apart, or pulled loose at the speaker itself. But, at a price of about $2.50 each for the lot of 5...; hey, some people were paying over $20 for a single one of the exact same item from other sellers.

My use case is probably similar to many other people: I want a pillow speaker to plug into my cellphone so I can listen to stuff at night (in my case, mostly the spoken word). This item was very disappointing. It's basically a headphone element in a thin plastic case with holes on both sides. Even maxed out volume on the phone, it's barely audible because the housing is not well designed with a resonant cavity. If you put the same speaker in a Dixie cup, it's much louder. It might be better if driven from a more powerful amp but I suspect it would start distorting long before it became loud enough to be useful.

Works well, not very durable but for the price a good deal.

Read bad reviews on the plug and speaker wires so the first thing I did was to tape the wire to the back of the speaker and to the plug to act as a strain relief for the wire. So far holding up well and I like the sound quality coming from such a small speaker. Shipped on time and is working well so far.

They work and they're cheap, but the quality is very low and the cord falls apart quickly. You get what you pay for.

I have headphones but they were giving me ear aches 2 ways. One is trying to get comfortable in bed and falling asleep with them on. And also didn’t like it right on my ear. This I set inside my pillow case. These don’t seem well made but used 4 times and still working so looks like a keeper. They were cheap for what they are. Great for trips because if lost, no big deal

I bought some of these to share with the whole family. Having read the comments, I took mine apart and tied a knot in the line so that the pegs catch it instead of puling against the speaker. (There was already a knot in there, but I wanted a second one to allow for more slack. It has no bass. I tried playing some music with a shredding bass solo, it sounded like a quiet guitar. It's not loud, even at max volume it can barely be heard in a quiet room. So I don't recommend it for much more than light music or for audiobooks. Having said that, it matched my expectations exactly. I just want to fall asleep to some podcasts and audio-books without headphones digging into my ear or disturbing anyone.
