Thrilling adventure book
This timeless adventure novel is perfect for middle-grade kids. My son is captivated by the vivid descriptions of the journey around the world and the daring character, Phileas Fogg. He also likes the detailed and complex illustrations. I highly recommend this thrilling book to any 10-year-old kid and older.

Taking a trip with Mr. Fogg in our world geography class
I homeschool my children (5th and 7th grade). This year for our history we are studying world geography. Our "boxed" curriculum had us reading, Around the World in 80 Days, classic junior edition. My girls are bored to tears with such novels, which is an unfortunate thing, but they really enjoy graphic novels. To continue to incorporate the story into our lessons, I ordered this graphic novel by Everheart & Smith. It is definitely a much, much shorter read than the classic novel, but essentially highlights the travels, the problems, and solutions Phileas Fogg faces on his 80-day journey around the globe. The book is a very easy read for my 5th grader, but it basically summarizes the entire story in 65 pages. The graphic novel includes the main characters found in the classic novel: Mr. Fogg, Jean, Aouda, and of course the detective. Around the World in 80 Days graphic novel follows common core standards, and, in the back, you'll find reading questions as well as writing prompts.

Gorgeous illustrations (5/5)...
Very light on story content even as an adaptation. Jules Verne's work deserves better treatment. As an appetizer to pique interest, it works.

Boys enjoy these
I fought the โclassic into a graphic novelโ for a long time. But this is what my boys seem to read, so I gave in. I like them reading the classics, and if this is the way they have to do it- so be it. They really enjoy them.

It was good
I didnโt like the detective at all. I liked the ending because it was a surprise for the reader at the end.

This classic story really came to life with the drawings for a young reader, now they are seeking other classics to read.

I didn't know this was the child version. Nevertheless, it was fun to browse through the pages and finish the book in an hour.

The book is very well illustrated and follows the original story. Great for a young reader looking for a classic adventure story. However it appears it was poorly packaged and came with wet stains on the front cover. Noticed this only when I was packing it as a Christmas present.
