Basic Bookbinding

It is a pretty good idea to learn bookbinding terms and pretty much a huge chunk of bookbinding.

I am quite limited in the amount of space I have to work with and the tools that I have, so I found this book incredibly helpful in every way. I have a number of books in my possession that require a little TLC - some a lot!! and this little book has started me along the road to recovering them. A great buy.

Does what it says on the tin and has all the essentials for the person starting out on the practice of this craft

Really is basic, but I found it useful for a beginner like me. I'd recommend it to anyone thinking of taking up Book-binding as a hobby

I find 'Basic Bookbinding' by A. W. Lewis to be an excellent jumping off point for the would-be bookbinder and an excellent reference for the experienced bookbinder! While it may be a bit elementary, it is a well written book on the art of making books and a very reliable guide.If you are considering making your own books, something I find to be an excellent exercise allowing me to create books filled with the kind of paper I wish, whether for art or writing or something else, 'Basic Bookbinding' is a great book to start with. I highly recommend it!Furthermore, there is something special about creating a book of your own rather than going to a local store and purchasing one. Yes, it takes time and energy but it is truly worth the effort. When you are finished, you have a book made for you by you! I highly recommend you give it a try.

This book was a great addition to the information I gleaned on the internet. It had specifics for several different types of bindings that I couldn't find clear explanations for. It's clearly written and good for a beginner (my experience level). I've been using it often as a solid reference book for my bookbinding (primarily sketchbooks).
