Easy to use
I purchased a few of these as a substitute for the peat moss ingredient used in Mel's Mix (33% peat moss, 33% compost, 33% vermiculite) for some raised beds. I threw a block of the compressed Coconut Coir into a decent sized container (I re-purposed a 80L plastic storage box from Morrisons) and then poured some warm water over it. The block broke apart with ease and absorbed the water quite quickly. I waited a few minutes and then came back to the container to see some solid bits still there so I added more warm water and repeated the process until the consistency was about right for me to use. I'd estimate 30 minutes for the time it took from opening the packet to using it.

Solid block of coir. I've used this as a growing medium for all my seedlings this year, and they all seem to be thriving quite well. I've read that coir doesn't naturally have as many nutrients etc as soil does so I've been adding Biobizz to my plants. But I was able to grow seedlings in it without the nutes, I guess it depends on the speices of plant youre growing, This block is incredibly dense. I tried hacking off chunks with a blade, in the end we popped it in a bucket and left it over night to soak (it doesnt need over night, an hour or two with warm water works just as well)

Easy to carry and store + peat free
I find it difficult to store and manage large bags of compost in my garden. The dehydrated brick option allows me to make up compost with water when I need it and the remaining bricks are small, light and easy to store. I am happy that this a peat-free option. The window boxes I recently planted up using the product are looking good so far.

Good stuff
Arrived on time. I'm a regular user of coir compost and it works. One thing though- it's not as simple to make up as the instructions would have you believe. In this particular case only having a 40ltr container I had to saw the block in half - not difficult but inconvenient. Making the compost requires more time and effort than the instructions would have you believe but once you're used to it it's straightforward.
