TOPDON RLink J2534 Pass-Thru Programmer, Supports J2534/D-PDU/CAN-FD/DoIP

I've been using the TOPDON RLink J2534 for diagnostics and OEM programming, and it has exceeded my expectations. The device is well built, connects quickly, and works reliably. Installation was straightforward, and the performance has been excellent with no connection issues. It's a great value for anyone looking for a professional J2534 pass-thru device. I needed to reprogram a body control module on a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix to enable heated seats and remote start. This required a combination of SPS2 and Tech2Win through Techline Connect.I initially was between the TOPDON's Rlink and XTOOL's XTS500. I first purchased XTOOL's XTS500 since I've used their products before, and it was cheaper. Turns out it was the worst mistake I could have made. It was a week of headaches just trying to get it to work, and I ultimately decided to return it because it was a complete dud.At this point, I still needed to program the BCM, so I decided to buy TOPDON's Rlink. This product worked quite seamlessly. The software was straightforward and easy to use. I downloaded the necessary drivers, and everything just worked. SPS2 had no issues identifying and updating modules. Tech2Win was able to detect the Rlink with no problem. The best part is that the Rlink is powered through USB-C, so you can get everything set up before heading out to the car. As my only other exposure to pass-thru programmers was the XTOOL's XTS500, this was an amazing feature.Overall, if you need a reliable pass-through programmer for GM products, go ahead and purchase this. The entire experience is straightforward, and I have no complaints about this product. Honestly, this is probably the best product on the market at this price range.

I've used the RLink to program several GM modules and a few Ford Modules. as a plus it also works with forscan at a quarter the cost of big name brands. highly recommend

Was able to program my Infiniti G35 Transmission Control Module with ease using the Rlink. Also was able to write Vin code to used ECU for same car. Compatible with many different makes of cars. Simple install of drivers and the software is very easy to navigate. Works great with Consult 3+ RTR and NERS (Nissan ECU Reprogramming Service) Vers. 3.08 offline. Also works on or offline for Consult 3+ also! The navigation of app is very easy to follow. I saw a cpl ppl on auto forums mentioned that the programming speed was a lil slow but I saw no issues with that. Everything went pretty smooth and that was the first time I had ever reprogrammed any automotive ECU/TCM. Oh and the quality of the dongle and the cable r Topnotch and comes in a very nice zip up pouch with lots of cushionning to protect it if u happen to drop case or anything. Definitely would recommend getting one if u need to program any of ur vehicles computers. Works great for diagnostics as well, clearing codes, basically anything that u need to do to ur vehicle that includes connecting to OBD2 port.

I really like this VIM so far. It's the shade tree mechanic's more affordable Mongoose. I work on Toyotas and it gets the job done with TechStream. I'm not sure I would reprogram an ECU with it, it is definitely capable of doing it but my worry would be if the flash went wrong Toyota probably would somehow know a non-approved VIM was used. The capability is there though for those brave enough. The newest model I've worked on with this is a 5th gen RAV but it's worked for me with older models too.

Amazing J2534 device. Fixed my PCM when the factory one couldn't. Works extreamly well for Stellantis peoducts using witech2 diagnostics software. A little background: My 2025 Ram 1500 got its PCM (ECM) corrupted due to a loss of communication during a flash/cali ration using the Factory Witech2 certified POD. I tried many times to bring it back and it would not work. Took the PCM to a "specialist" and was told my device was bricked and needed a new one. So, I purchased a new PCM and while updating the flash on my brand new PCM, same issue. So, at this point I concluded the issue was the tool I was using. Found this TOPDON RLink J2534 on amazon, did a little research and found it to be compatible. Once I got it, I configured it to my laptop and was able to flash my brand new PCM without issues. I decided to try and flash my original unit and with the help of this device I was able to bring it back. So, now my truck works flawlessly, no DTCs and all ECUs are updated thx to this device. The driver management thru the Topdon Rlink App is amazing. So easy to configure and use. For the price it is imposible to do better. Highly recommended for Stellantis vehicles.Update Aug 25th 2026, Unfortunately, this device is no longer able to do 2025 Ram 1500 PCM or TCM calibrations (updates). Not sure if it is something with Witech 2 app or with the interface drivers. For other systems (not all), I was still able to do calibrations and read and clear DTC codes, but for PCM it left my truck unusable with a blank PCM that would not start the engine. I ended up buying the official Mopar Pod Pro and my truck came back alive. Of course the Mopar Pod Pro is very costly and most likely not worth the price for DIYer.

It replaced my snap-on scanner that became obsolete after 2023 I was looking at trading it in for a new $4k where bi-directional controls are locked behind a subscription like this tool but the subscription is a fraction of the cost and I've already used the tool dealer software pass on gm's acdelco site anything it can do out of box you can pay for dealer level

This made for a seamless program on a TCM. It was instantly recognized by GM tech connect and had zero issues through the whole process. Great build quality and intuitive software. Only issue I had was when trying to download R link software it would not complete, make sure you turn off your antivirus! I also had to turn off Norton “behavioral” virus detection even with the main Norton antivirus turned off.

This is lifesaver J2534 passthru. I was using VCX Nano for GM via USB, and it was working fine. Until I started programming Serial Data Gateway Modules. The VCX Nano failed it (5 tries). Dealership asked for $1500+ to take a look and module flashing. Eventually I found out the hardware of vxdiag is having buffer overflow, or let say struggling to push data blocks as it was only a clone j2534 interface.Ordered Topdon Rlink J2534 and within first try, it pushed all the data into SDGM.Successfully restored everything. Saved me $1500+ trip and several days of No vehicle.🎉🎉

This interface does NOT support DoIP, unlike the claim in the Title. I only discovered this after ordering a $300 subscription to reprogram a 2018 Jaguar in the shop.
