Perfect suit post surgery
My cat is 2.4kg and medium size fit well. Vet put the suit on straight after surgery, I had her home 4hrs later. When she was finally free to walk around the house, it took her many attempts and rolly-pollys to try to try to get rid of the suit. She also walked funny for couple of hours. It was difficult to watch so i took the suit off. The moment the suit was off, she jumped on the kitchen worktop! I quickly realised the suit limits her movement hence had to go back on or too big stretches can open the wound. She got used to the suit about 5hrs later and it helped that she was sleepy. Try to survive first 2-4 hrs seeing her struggling, she will get used to it soon..

Better than a cone!
From the reviews I was unsure what size to get my fluffy old boy, because he used to be around 5.3kg but due to extreme muscle wastage he's now just under 4kg. I went for a Large in Grey (first 2 photos), & while it fit perfectly at the top, the chest, & length of his body, it was loose & droopy around his back legs. He didn't seem to care or notice, but occasionally his back legs went inside it, so I ordered a Medium (third photo). The medium is more snug, but comes lower than ideal on his chest (rather than neck), & does seem to annoy him where it hugs his legs. But still it's better than the cone of shame, & is stopping him chewing at his various lumps & bumps, so it's staying. Despite his feisty nature he let me put it on so easily, & he didn't mind the looser one at all, in fact he seemed to really like it! The more snug one has made him grouchy, but honestly these are fantastic given the alternative, so I'm sure he'll get used to it. There don't seem to be enough poppers on the Large , but I'm glad to have poppers rather than the velcro that the lighter colours seem to come with. EDIT: The Medium that fit him snugly turned my boy in to a statue for 24 hours. He even seemed relieved to have the cone back on once I removed it. I think it's better to have a cat get his feet stuck inside one that's too big (thus becoming a loaf, or walking his way out of it) than a dribbling angry statue.

Surgical Recovery Suit
First Purchase was 3 star review. My second order and review is further down.... 1. Small I have a very small 8 month old kitten and the small seemed to be the best option from her weight and measurements as I read them. The body fabric of the garment is stretchy like a cotton lycia t-shirt, but the edges (seams/piping) have virtually no stretch, so be careful choosing the size. The bseal on top of the body was velcro (noisy and irritating to my cat and me) although to be fair there is room for minor adjustment in doing up the velcro to make it a little tighter or looser if that helps. Sadly I misread the lbs for kgs, my mistake and it's cost me and my kitten. The small is not long enough in the body for my girl and it forced the neck opening with the fixed cord in too far down and over her shoulders, which restrict her movement too much and make her wobbly and unsure of herself when moving. So I have cut the cord out of the neck, which allows it to stretch more, so she can move easier temporarily, while I wait for the medium to arrive. Fingers crossed that it stays on and the new one will fit better when it arrives, as I have realised my mistake and corrected it as best I can. I give it 3 stars only for the piping and velcro. The rest of the problems, I consider to be from my error in choosing the wrong size. 2. My second order was a size medium. This was a much better fit, even being a bit baggy on the belly. That part was great. The back opening was closed with plastic poppers, which was great for ease of use and quietness. The neck has to be fitted with a cord to tighten and hold it in the right place just don't forget to loosen it before you try to take it off! However the non-stretchy piping is still a problem for my slender 2.7kg 8 month old kitten. It still restricts her movements and safe jumping, she cannot extend her front legs, nor extend her hind legs properly and always has to scrambles at least part of the way. If the manufacturers changed the piping for elastic (and send me a complimentary size medium for the brilliant suggestion) they would definitely get a 5 dtar rating from me, as they would be perfect for me. It is also a quick on and off process, so I'm now at the stage where I take it off when I'm at home during the day, then I pop it back on at bedtime or when I have to go out, when I can't keep at eye on her. All In all a great product, with a small imperfection that could easily be resolved, that has majorly improved my kittens life since her neutering and wearing the cone of shame, which is a terrible thing to inflict on a cat. The cone made my kit bump into everything, lose her balance, like her confidence, gave her depression, prevented her eating of drinking and just totally ruined her life.. This suit (admittedly not completely trouble free) is a horsens to the horrific and barbaric plastic "cone of shame" which causes untold, both mental and physical health problems, including depression, loss of thirst and loss of appetite. They are cruel. GET ONE OF THE SUITS IN PREPARATION BEFORE ANY SURGERY THAT IS PREPARED FOR IN ADVANCE IR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTERWARDS. I'm a lifelong, multiple cats owner, who is in tune with all my animals. I have never seen any animal, of any species, as clinically depressed and ready to fade away and die as my newest little girl cat. It was all caused by the cone of shame and it damn near broke our hearts. I would not hesitate to ban then if I could. Buy this suit or something else, but please don't make any cat suffer the cone of death in future. P. S. Pass the word around please, to any and every cat owner/carer you know, whether commercial or private.

Determined escape artists WILL get out!
My cat needs something to stop him grooming and agitating small wounds around his stomach and hips. If this had stayed on, it would have been perfect at covering those areas while leaving his bottom free for litter tray needs. It’s also colourful and soft. The popper fastenings seem good and secure. It’s also arguably a safety feature that it’s not so tight a cat can’t escape it if they really want to… but that does defeat the purpose! My fella has a history of escaping every type of vest or harness I’ve ever tried, and this was no different. He lay about looking very sad and bewildered for a while in hopes I’d take it off for him. When he realised I wasn’t going to, he found out he can just pull his head out with a bit of effort and then the legs and tail come out easily. It was on for under an hour, including the time spent waiting for me to remove it. There’s no way to attach it to a collar so I find the neck and shoulder area does stretch down naturally after a little bit, making escape easier. I debated securing it to his collar with ribbon or string but I was worried it might end up strangling him (or, more likely, his safety collar would pop off and he’d STILL get out). This may be more a reflection on my cat’s determination to get out of such garments than it is on the product, but if your cat has proven resistant to onesies or vests before, this isn’t the solution. They can get out if they really decide to.

Wife and I each ordered one. After the first cat was dressed up, she proceeded doubling over and tore it off (head and paws first) quite easily. Either she’s Houdine incarnate or the product simply is not fit for purpose… We did not bother unpacking the second one and I hit the return button… to add insult to injury, the item cannot be returned unused. Buyer beware!
